What does it take to make a law?
A lot of hard work! It took us over two years to make this happen and there were many ups and downs along the way. At one point this year we questioned if it was ever going to happen for us. But thanks to everyone in our club, we did it! We also had lots of help, from the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, the Virginia Herp Society, our friends in 4-H, our friends outside of 4-H, countless naturalists and teachers- thanks to everyone who helped us!
We had to visit the capitol in Richmond more than seven times this year; each trip taking at least six hours. On one especially difficult day, we left our homes in Northern Virginia at 7:00 am and didn't make it home until 7:30pm. And our bill wasn't even voted on that day, so we had to go back a day later!
